I recently had a story in the inaugural issue of Oyster River Pages. Even better, I’m now journal siblings with my good friend Grace Lanoue, a bad ass writer with a similar style to my own.

“An Unfaded Black” was originally written as some fan-fiction homage to Mad Men, in which Grandpa Sly was actually Grandpa Donald, and Abigail was named Sally. I think trying to keep it in that universe was holding me back from getting weirder than I could’ve been. After a couple years of revision, I made the story my own, and ended up finding a home in this beautiful online publication.

In re-reading it, it still maintains some of its Mad Men style, and I’m happy it does.

Check out “An Unfaded Black” here.

And please check out “Freeze” by Grace Lanoue as well.
