This past Friday, the second of a series of flash stories was published at Okay Donkey. I recently completed a “chapbook” of stories – 12 pieces of flash, approximately 36 pages long. They’re all auto-fiction, in that, I the writer am supposed to be the narrator.
The chapbook itself is all a response to the miscarriage my wife and I experienced almost a year ago. You’ll notice I’m not married in the stories, and babies are a pretty frequent topic. It’s absurd and surreal, and probably because I needed to escape. I was out of my mind for a few months.
Things are getting better, though.
“Agonal Respiration” is closer to the end of that collection and takes place at a dinner party where many of the recurring characters are together in one place.
I don’t have much else to say, other than it’s pretty weird. So, you can read it here: Agonal Respiration
Till next time.
